My old Kestrel
Hi Guys,

Went out this afternoon to look for some kestrels, and one in particular. This is an old female, that hangs around some grasslands, and she always lets me get very close to her, and is always very curious about "that guy with that lens sticking out of his car"..
I can tell she is an old lady because of the wide yellow ring around her eyes. The wider the ring, the older they are.
I posted another shot of her on another perch in the Avian Forum.

Greetings,

Jeroen Stel

Hi Jereon

Excellent kestrel image, I like the fluffed up plummage and the head turn. :toast:

I might prefer a fraction more space above the bird and a fraction less space below but other than this minor nit (a personal preference thing) it is a top quality shot.

cheers

Hi Jeroen
nice capture and the pose suits the perch which normally I would not like. :toast:

Hello Jeroen

This is, in my opinion, the best of your shots posted here so far.

Very nice - though I'd like to see more space above and to the right of the bird.

Nice capture. An unusual but attractive background.

Nice image. Like the pose and the background - which I think sets the bird off nicely.

Another great image Jeroen although I'm personally not fond of the perch I do very much like the complimentary background and the subjects expression / attitude.
