I found this on Ebay NEW for a great price of $140- Canon EOS Digital Rebel XT XTi 100-300mm AF Lens.... Is this a decent lens? I am using it to photograph Southern California's jittery and sporadic wildlife, up to this point I've only had a 55 mm max zoom.....so this 300 should do me well. Would this be sufficient to get decent photogaphs of coyotes, bobcats and mountain lions from up to 50 feet away?

probably a 100-400 IS lens would be better as it's hard enough to keep the lens still on that long of a lens w/o the image stabilizer. if you tried shooting a mountain lion from 50 feet away you probably owuldn't live to see the results, plus it'd probably still be on the small side with a 300.

Brandon...

Check here for a listing of 25 reviews of this lens. The numbers are not that great but it will certainly give you more reach if it's all you can swing at this point...

Good luck,

Bill
