This is even tooooooo tight for me but I will be interested in what others think ? Taken through Conservatory double glazing ? I know some people dont like Starlings but they are one of my favourites Full frame but I dont have the other techs to hand at the moment :(
I think starlings make great subjects and are full of colour when seen up close like this.
However,it doesn't work for me if I'm honest due to the bird being too tight in the frame, also the birds head doesn't look quite as sharp as it could be.
I guess it's not always practical to do so,and may annoy other family members, but I'd always try and avoid shooting through a window, even if that means having the door or window open in the middle of Winter .

My old girls house has fantastic double glazing and I've got pin sharp pics through it, however my house has terrible quality glass totally useless for shooting through so have plans to replace the glass in the future. Your pic doesn't look that bad at all I would like to see more attempts and tecs, I think its an interesting angle on the beautiful bird but a little tight.
Hi Tim, I have just looked up the techs for you 300mm. 1/320 @ f6.3, iso 400. I personally do not think that the glass I shot through has degraded the image much, certainly not to a noticeable level but I did have to clean it first I knew before posting that this would be too tight for most but I sometimes take a couple of full body closeup's like this if I can for 'record' purposes but I just liked the colours in the plumage in this
Justin, Dennis, thanks for the comments which are much appreciated
