Hi Phillip
I really like this a lot. Regardless of technicalities etc., I just think it's a darned good photo of one of my favourites birds (I know it's not glamorous but I think they are fun birds).
It's a personal thing but I always prefer a left to right pose - any chance of posting one flipped just to satisfy me

Super image of a common bird - great pose, light & exposure. Very very minor nit, I think a little CW rotation is needed!
Hi David yes it does need a little have done it as well as flipping it for Barrie in the repost.
Phillip.

Thanks Phillip - it's a great photo either way I just like my subjects looking left --> right (apparently it's how our brains view a given scene.

It is great to see beautiful pics of the more common and overlooked birds. Nicely done.

Marton Mere....the memories come flooding back, that was my old stomping ground when I was a kid and through into my youth. I heard they turned into a nature reserve some time ago...once they had finished tipping all around it and then building a caravan site on top! The dykes to the east (and west before they were filled in) used to be full of water voles, they would pass by every few minutes if you sat still........sorry, I'll stop reminiscing......very nice shot, I prefer the flip but not sure why!

Hi Phillip
Love the image. Only nit was the rotation which in the first image posted makes the bird look as if it is trying to stop itself sliding down hill.
Hi Philip,
A cracking shot taken in nice light.Love the anticipated movement.
Would never have thought of Barry's sugestion of flipping the image, but looking at both side by side, much prefer the 'flipped' version.
Must remember that tip.
