Shore Lark
A rarity in my parts of the world (only 1-2 are seen every year in East Denmark). I found two birds resting on the beach last month, and stayed with them for an entire weekend. Most of the time I spend laying flat in the sand. In the end they wheren't afraid of me, and several times went to close for my camera to focus. This is one of my favourite-shots from the weekend because of the raised wing.

20D + 500/4 + tc1.4; iso400, 1/200 f7.1, cropped to 70%.

Hi Helge,

A lovely bird and the beach matter really adds to the image. Perhaps I would prefer a slight turn of the head on the bird but I guess that is just a personal thing.

Kind regards Chris

Know the feeling Helge. When you can get something like this to your self its surprising just how confiding they become. Have had one run right over my foot.
Can see you have got right down to the birds level and captured it well. :toast:

Really interesting colours, amazing ground material. I'd tidy up by cloning out the orange area in the top right. Nice one

Lovely image Helge and am I jealous having driven across the UK to see these and missed them. Not too worried by the orange in the background, but would have loved to see more of the feet.
