Another Shot of Hood
Yeah, I know it's not all that unique a subject, but while out snowshoeing with the wife this morning I had to capture something. We got up to the mountain a bit late for sunrise color. My wife does not have any motivation for great light. So, this scene was almost B&W as shot.

Hi Tim,

Native B&W works for me! I'll always like Mt. Hood shots! What I think is also interesting is how the picture has a vignette to it. Was this shot with your 10-22?

Tim,

This is a really nice shot. Good leading lines in the fogbound the formations created by the lenticular cloud are very cool.

Never eonigh good Hood shots for me!

Kevin, I use a less expensive but hopefully equal quality Sigma 10-20mm. Most of the reviews I have read say this lens is as good as the Canon.

As for the vignette, there is a very light blue overlay layer on the image (opacity reduced to 20%). So, techically this is a duo-tone.

Pretty nice, Tim. Striking lenticular cloud formation! The foreground works for me.

The foreground really makes it, Tim. I like the blue also.

Tim, is this from Mirror Lake ?

John, yes it is. The wife and I just wanted to take a morning snowshoe hike. I was hoping the lake was not completely frozen over and topped with snow. It was covered more than I had hoped, but fortunately there was a couple of small areas of interest to put in the foreground.

Sweet clouds, but it feels more like a pencil sketch to me. Still, a cool and unique image worth keeping around.
