Hi everyone. Just a heads up for those buying compact flash cards on ebay, I purchased what i thought were two 4gb Sandisk Ultra II cards back in September. I orignally had no problem with the cards, but recently have been having numerous problems ranging from corrupt files, slow write times, and not being able to turn the camera on or off.

After doing some research, I came across the following:

Buyer beware!

Good advice. I've read that up to 90% of the Sandik Ultras on Ebay are bogus. Not worth the gamble when you can get them at reasonable prices from dependable sources. I've seen the bogus ones and even the packaging looks very good so don't be fooled! A friend of mine kept bragging about what a great deal he got on his... when I showed him how to check it out he found his was bogus. His card worked ok but took almost 4 times longer to clear the buffer than a real one.

I bought a Sandisk Ultra II 2 GB card at the end of April off ebay. I noticed that vertical images would not rotate automatically. I didn't think anything of it until a few months later when I also read about the fake cards. The packaging looks authentic except for a few key items. The lack of a holograph is the easiest way to tell. The card has worked fine and the price was very good for a 2 GB card, but I didn't receive the product I thought I was purchasing.
