I just recieved an email from someone at a company saying they wish to use one of my images as an e-christmas card to be send out to a maximum of 50 people, and they want to know how much I will charge for that. They need the image to be 500 pixels wide, so its not a super high res image that they can do much else with.
I'm not really sure how much I should ask for. Its only a small image and in fact they could have just done a screen grab from my website if they wanted as the image on there meets the size requirements, so I'm quite impressed they have actually asked!
I know its probably madness but I'm half tempted to supply it free of charge on the provision my copryright/web address is clearly visible. A gesture of goodwill at this time of year to a friendly company could make them come back to me in the future at some point?!
Failing that, any advice from you guys?
Thanks in advance

Is there anything they can offer in Kind ... are they a wildlife org with land -
Otherwise £30... and if you are feeling generious make them make it payable to a charity.
P.S. Ask them how they found your website and why that picture - thats worth something as well.

Well the deal has been done.
I called the guy and he seemed like a very nice chap. He explained that his small company does not send out actual christmas cards every year but e-cards instead. He said they have not had time to make one this year so he was doing a google search and came across my website.
I liked the idea of a donation so suggested that instead of charging a fee, he donates to cancer research (it was not a wildlife image and as my mum passed away from cancer almost 10 years ago its always been a charity I want to help).
To my shock he said he will donate £150!! So I am really very happy with that as I was only expecting £10 or £20.
So thats made my day
