My wife edits a newsletter for volunteers at Tri State Bird Rescue and Research, in Newark, Delaware. She needs a picture of a woodcock for the next issue. Do you have an image you would be willing to share with our volunteers? Photo credit will be included, of course.

Thanks for your help

I only have one and it's not a great image but it's the only one I ever had an opportunity to take. You are welcome to use it. I can e-mail a higher resolution if you want it.

You can see it at www.maplesphoto.com by clicking the "birds" button and then clicking the bird image to enter Mike's Birds Photos. It's on page 4.

I've got a tight shot of a woodcock in the hand with a dollar bill held up to measure the bill so the bird's gender can be determined. I'll e-mail a low-res version along, and just let mek now if it's good for you.

I have a series of shots of a Woodcock hen nestled in the ground cover your wife can use for the newsletter, although they suffer a little with sharp focus from beak to tail feathers and also from the harsh light at the time.
Examples are here: http://www.nhhomesights.com/gallery/thumbnails.php?album=31&page=1 and also on page 2 of my web site. I also have a few more shots in various angles I can e-mail as a contact sheet for her to look at if interested.
