Red Barn in Fog w/repost
A barn near Walla Walla on the drive to visit my parents taken last weekend. A pretty typical barn shot, but I like the fog and the trees with no leaves surrounding the barn with some frost on the ground.

This prints out to be a 12x36 pano.

Canon 20D
ISO 100
F/8.0
1/125s

Color adjusted in raw in CS3. Shifted highlights (fog) toward blue end to try to enhance the "cold" feeling.

So far, CS3, in my opinion, ROCKS! This image isn't really a good example of what it can do, but I'm liking it.

Ryan, I love the mood here. I'd suggest maybe just a bit more room on the bottom... ? :wavey:
Did you ever find the snowshoes you were looking for? I have some new , nice ones a friend is selling, if you're interested..

I commented over at M&N, Ryan, but I will here also.

This is sweet, great mood and comp. Do you have some roll paper to print it on your 3800? I think this one would sell well, people love old barns.

I think it pretty neat too!

Sandy, I too would like a little more room on the bottom (at least have the option of a different crop), but there was a high burm and a fence in the way, and I couldn't position myself higher, or get on the property to get a better angle to see if more at the bottom would be better or not.

Mark, I have some roll paper to use. The one drawback to the 3800 (not so much for me) is the 3800 does not have a roll feeder, but I easily cut a 37" length of paper to feed it through, and it works just great!

Guy Tal simply ran a broom handle through the roll and cut a couple of notches in the box to hold it. I guess that doesn't solve the paper cutting problem though.

Ryan, maybe I'm just not into barns. This one does not do anything for me. Seems flat and static. I usually like foggy scenes, but I don't think the light did you any favors here.

Ryan, if I were to nit pick this photo, I'd say that I'd like to see the barn a little more off center on horizontal placement - placed slightly to the right and smidge more foreground. That said, I do like this barn picture - I'm a country raised girl and maybe your mom's age... It's okay to take pictures that grannies like - I put expensive mats and beautiful frames on grannies favorite photos every day so I know for certain there's a market.

Reminds me of up-state New York where I spent a lot of time as a kid. Very nice, Ryan.

I like the comp and the mood it displays Ryan.

Well, this is very nice Ryan. Great pano, speaking of...

A slightly different crop (not much) and a little more saturation in the barn

Hi Ryan,
I've looked at this awhile now.... compared the repost, etc. I like the comp and mood overall. I am curious to see it with the color rebalanced (take the blue cast back out) but leave the barn saturated. What do you think?
