Taken in the fog today.

Around 50% crop with a couple of minor distractions at the bottom cloned out.

Exif

300mm @ 420mm
1/400sec
F/5.6
ISO 200
AF:One-shot AF
WB:Auto

The area around the Eye may or maynot look dark on your monitor (it does on mine) but it prints a treat.

Happy Christmas

Hi there, I like this picture and still nice detail from such a big crop, i took some goldfinch pictures myself today, if only mine had come out like this one.

Cheers Brian

How close was the bird to your house?

Hi ARD,

A lovely shot, full of character. It would have made it for me if the Goldfinch had been looking into the frame rather than out of it, but some things can't be helped!

Hello

Thanks for comments.

re. how close was it to my house?

It was around 4 miles from my home. I've set up a camera with a satellite link so I can monitor from home. Just press a button whenever something interesting pops into the frame.

No. It was around 10ft or so from the lens I guess from memory.

Regards

Might try converting this to vertical and cloning out the OOF twig in bottom. excellent lighting and background and the perch is perfect. :toast: Peter
