Ecola Dream Reflection
Had a moody evening at Ecola last night. I have yet to get anything except moody from here... maybe someday the sky and what I attempt will change these results.

Comments appreciated.

Singing the blues... Reminds me of our weather lately

It is dreamy. I like the blue and the red in the distance. I like how it looks cropped down a bit on the top,

Actually, the attractive part to me here is the partial silhouettes in the surf...and the cool blue tones of course. Not wow...but still nice.

I've been taking pictures along the Oregon and Washington coast for years and have many shots like yours, though not as nice. I love the color mix, did you use any sort of filter for the shot?

Thanks guys, this is not a wow shot because you really can't wow this type of shot.... unless your Marc

Steve, I used a cokin 2-stop soft GND to tame the sky just a bit... it was very dark and longer exposures at this last bit of twilight will really glow nicely... one of my favorite times to shoot (most everybody else packs up and leaves while I'm still shooting for another 40 min....)

Moody is good. The water is remarkably calm & smooth compared to the more turbulent looking sky. For me it creates a pleasant sort of tension, as if this scene portends a storm. I like it.

I like it John, and I'm also thinking about a B&W with a little blue tone given the subdued color palette.
