I photographed this Seven-Spot Ladybird (Coccinella septempunctata) on Mistletoe (Viscum album), growing on my Classic Blenheim Orange apple tree, last week. A sign of the milder winters
(perhaps) we seem to be getting.
Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year

Hi David,
A good record shot of the species in it's habitat. However, I feel it would be much improved if the ladybird was facing towards the camera. I also find the image a bit 'busy', with lots of things fighting for my attention.
I can certainly see what you mean by the milder winters though - will be interesting to see how the rest of the winter pans out.
I'm with Pete on the direction the ladybird. Also seems to need further sharpening or it's just plain out of focus. (I appreciate how hard it is to handhold 'macro' type shots.)
Also some fringing on the berries which is distracting.
Maybe some levels adjustment and some or some contrast adjustment to perk it up?
