Hey all. I haven't posted in a loooooooooooong time, but have been a regular viewer. I have a couple quick questions.

I think I remember reading somewhere on this forum in 2004 or 2005 that there is a turn-off along SR14 eastbound that you can get pretty decent pics of Mt. Hood. If this is true, anybody know where it's at?

And second, my wife and I want to give snowshoeing a shot. What are the good "beginner" hikes up on Hood to start with? Mirror Lake looks awesome, but am affraid it could be too much for us newbies.
 And how is the Trillium Lake hike from 26 to the lake for newbs?

Thanks in advance any input you all can give!

Trillium is easy going down, but for a newbie...it really depends on your physical condition. 2 miles uphill in snowshoes, you can probably do, but plan on stopping to rest a few times. What might be better is Frog Lake...although there, you have to contend with snow mobiles and dog sledders. That's all flat though...
