Hello Everyone

I am trying to print on some Hahnemuhle German etching 310gm paper, the printer I have is an epson R2400. Basically the paper won't go through the printer but it does manually and it is telling me to load it manually but it still won't print, can anyone help as I have got to get this print done for christmas. thanks.

Only thing I can think of for you is to check and see if there is a paper thickness adjustment lever anywhere in your printer. Most printers have something of the sort for printing on thicker card etc - adjusting it may help it to handle the paper properly.

You could also try setting a thicker card stock in the printer driver if that is possible..?

Hello Nick

Thanks for the quick responce mate, I think I have sorted the problem by working out how to manually load the board. Its printing now.

Cheers

Its got me really puzzled now as it has printed one but won't do another so hopefully some one will be able to help. I need to do about ten so it looks like a long night.

Danny,

I have had the same problem using, 310gsm Perma Jet Fine Art Museum Classic (basically the same stuff as yours). There are 2 reasons for miss feeds, one yes the paper is too thick to be taken through the printer from the standard top feed but you can get it through with some patents, but it does tend to damage some of the paper when it goes mad and fires it straight through. I have tried the manual front feed method too but this doesn't seem to work with none Epson paper, it you look closely when you its printing due to the different orientitaion of the paper the ink actually 'bounces off'! The second problem is the fine art paper leaves dust on the rollers so you need to clean them and the easiest way to do with is buy some mounting spray (I use permajet Retac) spray it lightly on each side of the paper and get the printed to do a feed through, this may need to be repeated. Then use a clean peice of paper to make sure you get all the glue off the rollers! I wish I still had my 2100! Still a great printer on semi gloss!

If find a better metho give me a shout.

I have had several long nights on this too!

Thanks

Brian
