Colour Management/Monitor calibration
HI There

I know this is a subject often raised and I have read back through previous posts. But in all honesty not sure where I am at. I am finding (because of comments posted on my pics) that I am obvioulsy not seeing on my computer what other people are. I appreciate that all monitors are different and light sources etc etc... but I think mine is out.

In short I use a MAC G4 powerbook and Photoshop CS2. My monitor is set to Colour LCD. I tried to self calibrate but all my images appeared extreme in the contrasts... or too blue. Is there a simple way of setting this so i at least get a fair reflcetion of the raw file? Also in terms of photoshop, is there a set standard of colour display?? I know you guys out there have replied to this on countless posts, but previously they seem directed to PC's rather than macs... and maybe not for laptops.

Here is an image that may help in explaining my problem. What I see in photoshop is a strong dark blue in the sky, fairly dark in the shadows of the elephants with the baby being a lot brighter. Grass a real sort of Khaki shade.... if any one can help just with some standard setttings to get the ball rolling I would much appreciate the help.

Thanks in advance

Frank,

Hop over to the Digtal Imaging Forum and run a search there. Ideally, you might want to post this question there. Here's a great tutorial on colour management from Adobe:

Color Management .

I hope this helps answer your questions.
