White Silhouette
This is a portrait I took of my girlfriend Annie, near Depot Bay yesterday. The background is intentionally very bright which I felt lent a peaceful, almost surreal or ethereal mood to the image. Let me know what you think. I need to hear about it, as I have virtually no portrait experience.

5D, 40mm, Natural Light, No filters.

There is a guy here in Hood River who does a lot of his wedding photography like this. I think you've created a wonderful, thoughtful portrait here, Marc.

Mark, Great mood and I like the brightness. Maybe just a little Magenta?

Marc,
I think this is fantastic. Perfect placement of the sun burst.

I think it's wonderfully dramatic Marc!! The fabulous light & the pensive look on her face work to create a very strong mood!!

Well done!!

.....also works well with vertical crops to a "portrait" configuration.....

Nice image and the sun burst placement is just too good. I'm not a portraight photographer - but so far have seen many portarits in a vertical crop so as Eric suggests - a vertical crop could be great. Rest of the image is flawless.
