Not been around for a couple of weeks leading up to Christmas due to work, so nothing very new. Instead, here's a Sanderling done at Donna Nook a couple of weeks back with DK and the gang. Light was superb for seals but a tad bright for sanderlings making it easy to burn out the whites. Dave and I spent a frustrating hour trying to get flight shots which was difficult as they were so tame they wouldn't fly

Hi John
Cracking shot. I did manage a few sharp ones in flight but not with such a pleasing pose - love the legs dangling down and the look over the wing!
Can't say I love the background to this image but the bird certainly looks nice and sharp etc.
Nice one.
Happy Christmas

I can see that the light was tricky for whites and I think you have handled it as well as you might - certainly can't fault the sharpness. I think I would have been tempted to clone out the highlight immediately above the bird though as it certainly takes my eye from the bird.

You've mentioned the difficulties with the whites already. However you have nailed the focus and caught this flight shot well.
