I too have a lack of recent images. Today very dull and grey, so here is one from November.
Taken in Wells harbour. This Red-throated Diver had been hanging about for some four weeks.
At times coming far to close to focus on being rather curious of me and the camera firing.

D2x. 600mm AFS II + 1.4 conv.

1/200 f8.
ex comp -0.7 EV.
iso 100
Colour mode II(Adobe rgb).
Sarpening None.
Slip in polarizer.

Hi Major,
You're doing better than me......at least you had sunshine in November.
You've not applied any sharpening. Why not? Looks like the whole shot could do with a little, just to make it pop a bit.

Thats in camera sharpening John.
Applied sharpening in PS but didn't want to over do it.

Nice image Major. Saw a couple of Winterton this afternoon but sadly they didn't come near enough for me with my puny 300 + 1.4! Would certainly have been pleased to end up with something like this.

Hello Major

That's a nice image.

Great low view and nice turn of the head to boot.

Cheers
