Something that at first glance appears mundane can sometimes yield a surprising image if I take the time to really work with the subject.
For nearly two hours, I shot this shallow creek flowing over smooth, multicolored pebbles. I ended up with nearly a thousand images, all very intriguing. But this one stood out.
The colors in the picture are all real: the reds and yellows are the refraction of rocks under the water, and the blues and purples are the sky reflecting in the water. Just the basic Photoshop adjustments were used to finalize the compositon and fine-tune color and contrast.
I really enjoy shooting water of all kinds. It's a constantly changing subject.
Many of my water shots are sequences of 9 images, and these look really cool made into lenticular animations.

I stared at it a long time, first got thirsty then I had to go.... Anyway it is a relaxing image which prooves that you can go abstract while maintaining total realizm! Awesome job!
