Mossy Roots
I was walking around in Wilson's Creek National Battlefield this afternoon and spotted this tree whose roots were growing over a small creek. This is a 3-shot pano.

Canon 20D
ISO 100
TS 45 (shifted for each segment)
f/8 for .5 seconds
Polarizer

Thansk for looking!

I like the subject and your composition Tim, and the beautiful green color of the moss. What I really like is how you've created more drama with the mottled highlights throughout the frame. It is difficult for me to tell that there is a drainage beneath the roots though. I'll bet the bigger picture was pretty cool to see.

Nice work - thanks for sharing! :toast:

Tim, I'm losing a lot of the detail I know is there because of the web size limitations. I would love to see this in print (in April, hint, hint). I like the flow that you have captured, the rich color of the moss and the mottled highlights too, very nice.

One minor nit is the twig sticking up from lower center, I'd crop that out before you print this for us to see in April. Thanks for posting! :wavey:

There is a LOT of detail lost in this size - the full-sized image is quite large, and much more interesting. I'll have to work on the print!

Tim,
Beautiful highlights. I'd imagine the full resolution print looks great. Love to see it.
