Canon 1D Mark II
Canon 24-70mm F/2.8 L @ 28mm
1/125 sec @ f/14 ISO 200

Handheld cuz using the tripod in the snow was sometimes troublesome... I'm thinking my tripod needs snow shoes too!!

Nancy & I went snow shoeing for our first time ever!! Inge & Sean Watson took us up to Hurricane Ridge for what turned out to be an awesome day weather-wise!!!

A day like this made snow shoeing dang fun indeed!!!! And the photography was splendid too!!

So please let me know what yall think of this one!

Great scene and great snow!

I haven't done snowshoeing in many years but it is fun once you get the hang of it. Actually, it's probably easy on the high tech modern day snowshoes, but the 35 year old Adirondack bearpaws that I own and used to use in the Adirondacks of northern NY took a bit of getting used to before you could avoid stepping on one with the other as you shoed around. I could sell you my pair...

This is really great. Love the color and patters with the snow and trees. What a great place to visit in the winter... I wanna go there one of these winters.

Rick,
This is very pretty. The shadows are a little distracting but not a big deal IMHO. I'm going to take up snowshoeing also. REI has some Snowshoeing clinics at the start of January I'm going to attend.

I like it, Rick. Snowshoeing is pretty fun, eh? I have an adjustable pair of ski poles that help a lot also.

I really should get up there this year, especailly with Rainier closed and all. Beautiful shot. I don't know what kind of tripod you have Rick, but I have snowshoe feet for my Gitzo. The probably make them for other brands too.

Stunning view. I love it, especially how you captured the pristine white snow. Beautiful colors and sharpness.

`What's with the curious blue color of the sky and the visible sharp shadows? Gives me sunburn to think about it......did you know that back East (New England), we always used to get a winter tan from days like this?
