Cabin Fever
It's winter and I'm couped up staring at this wicked weather and hoping I don't float off the hill or have a window blown in. So I think, okay, let's get into the archives and catch up a bit ( never mind the house cleaning). Even enthusiastic photo finishers need to come up for air. So, out from my little cubby hole for a look out my window, and I sees this. Had to get it... just in time. One shot. Color gone.

I'm a bit troubled by the noise and softness thoughout. Not a bad idea though.

Nice. It looks a bit like an abstract painting. I like the comp with the dark fg and the city in the lower part, appearing small under the big sky. The cloud layers remind one of northern lights.

Cathleen,
maybe this would have worked better without the foreground. I just don't feel like it's adding anything to the composition.

Woooohhh! Thanks for the comments. Went back to review what I did and found that I worked on the jpeg-basic file. Gad. Anyway, you should see what I started with and still managed to wrest the color out of it that I saw at the time. It was a hasty, handheld 'grab' shot of a hazy evening outside my window. I think the city would be unhappy if I removed the FG tree (which wasn't that tall when I moved in here). I just enjoyed how very much better all that looked than the driving rain of so many of the days before and wanted to share it with you. And yes, the comments are still appreciated. Keep 'em comin'. I'll have fun going back now and working on the RAW file to see what I can get. :wavey:
