Taken this morning in the Wet Mountain Valley, looking at Brokenhand, Humboldt, Crestone, Colony Baldy and Kit Carson peaks.

Also came across these horses that stood still long enough for me to take many photos. The third one in line was, shall we say, a little too happy to see me, so I photoshopped out his happiness.
The exposure differential was so great that I just couldn't keep any detail in the darkest horse. His silhouette will have to do.

Great work, Todd! I really like the shot of the horses.
They're both great. Very striking images. I haven't shot anything decent in two months, so I envy folks who are getting snow. But, too much of a good thing, right! :)

Todd, bit too much blue for me on the first shot (alpenglow might have made it) but the second one is outstanding! the shadows and backlighting are sweet.

Very cool, Todd. In both temperature and aesthetics! I like both equally well.
I like both shots myself, at first I wasn't really noticing the amount of blue in the first till it was pointed out, but for impact I think it was not only needed, it naturally occured as it should've. Oh an Happy New Year!

Nice Todd! Nice lines and temperature.

to clarify, wasn't so much the "blueness" that bugged me, it was the lack of any detail in the snow, which makes it indistinguishable from the sky. I know that's probably intentional, but it reminds me of a painting i once saw at the NYC Museum of Modern Art (entitled something like 'blue') that looked identical to the bottom right corner ot your photo--a canvas of pure blue! Now, that painting made it to the Museum, so so much for my artistic tastes--it's just a personal preference.
Holy Cow! Ummm... I mean "Horse"! The horse shot is fantastic! Tremendous composition, great timing, and sweet back lighting - what more could you ask for? Well, I guess horse 3 could ask for the return of his manhood...

Awesome shots Todd, especially that of the horses. I am sure that horse 3 will forgive you!

Both are sweet, Todd, but I'm really diggin' the second one. The shadows put it over the top - great work.
