Thanks Tim and David, this is is a photograph of Longpool waterfall, near Big Piney Creek. I hope some of you were able to get out yesterday too - the light was perfect for waterfalls, and a slight drizzle fell most of the afternoon making for some really saturated color.
I took this shot without polarization, thinking I might want to try a b&w version. My question is, do you think the reflections from mainly the rocks at the base of the waterfall and in the fg on the right are too bright? Thanks for any thoughts/comments...and best wishes for a Happy New Year!

Bill - I don't see the fg rocks as being too bright. I've seen this on three monitors now, and on darker monitors, they're barely noticeable. On either monitor, you've got good color, though sometimes I choose to remove the blue cast in the water. A b&w would look pretty awesome!

Tim - I thought the water looked a little blue - here's a repost, along with a B&W version. Thanks for your input!

Hey Bill, I bet your wife would love to see a 16x20 print of this BW image!

Heck - I'd like a 16x20! Nice job on the b&w!

Bill, this is one of my favorite waterfalls and an easy hike from Longpool campground. I first hiked to it way back in 1975 when I camped there and canoed the Big Piney. Your shot brought back many fond memories of the area. Thanks for sharing

Nice job on all of these Bill, you really captured some nice color and sharpness. This image, in both color & B/W might be a perfect candidate for you to bring along to our April gathering (hint, hint...).
Thanks for all the compliments. This is a beautiful waterfall. I was a little disappointed that I was unable to show the graceful shape of the small tree just left of center from this angle. I just love it's shape when viewed from an angle 90 degrees from this. But from that angle I couldn't avoid a white sky.
Wayne - I'll see what I can do about prints in April...
Hey Wayne, I happen to know that Bill will probably be able to provide you with a nice 16 x 20 print of this scene to share with the group (I'm trying to sell him the best 17" printer on the market right now and it just happens to be a killer with black and whites). Shhhhhm, don't tell his wife or the deal may fall through...

Hey Tim, maybe Bill could buy it from you but just run over to Cloudland when he needs to use it! That way you don't create any problems at home .... We all have to keep the boss happy or our lives would be hell (can I say that here?).
Yeah, it was like this: I'm out taking a few pictures of some swans and some guy comes up and tries to sell me this printer. Of course, I fell for his sales pitch. I swear, that Ernst dude could sell a block of ice to an Eskimo!
Naw, I'm just kidding. Tim offered me a deal that I just couldn't pass up. And I can't wait to see a big 16x20 b&w print...I haven't been this excited since Christmas eve when I was five years old, especially since my wife approved - er, maybe I should say that I haven't seen any suitcases on the porch when I've come home in the afternoon...yet.
