One from today in a car park at Cromer.
Five birds present and performing beautifully apart from:
The wind kept getting up.
The birds hardly ever turned to show thier true plumage.
Part of the tree they were in was in partial shade.
They tended to stick higher up in the top of the tree.
Twigs and branches kept getting in the way.
Not bad considering we had some lovely sunshine (hooray!!!} and it did turn out to be a great start for 2007.

Happy New Year all.

Major.

Great shot of a lovely bird. Send a few this way, if you can!

Hmm, wonder if we get them down south this year, lovely image despite the steep angle.

Lovely colours and great light. I didn't manage a single image on NYD, I just hope that's not set the tone for the rest of the year :frown:

Nicely lit shot of a bird we never see here.
It's always frustrating when subjects won't do just what you'd like them to, but I think you've done well here to get a clean shot. :toast:

I like it. (Has a fair halo around the beak though, and it is a shame that when you did manage to get a shot, it perched over a slightly unsightly twig.)

Happy new year

Very nice indeed! Ordinarily I'm not a big fan of bright, vibrant skies as BGs to BOAS shots, but it seems to really lift this image - perhaps because of the colours in the bird itself?

Top stuff.
