Haven't been out much for the last couple of weeks, but I did manage a day on the fells on the 28th Dec. The weather was pretty miserable, and the views from the tops were non-existent. However, as the sun set over the Irish Sea, the clouds parted long enough for a quick snap of the Eskdale Valley as I sat on top of Green Crag, pondering how I was going to climb down in the dark...
Thanks for the comments folks. Sorry for the delay getting back - I'd actually forgotten that I'd posted it LOL!
As Paul said, sometimes you just can't beat the light in the Lake District - it does some weird and wonderful things! The weather on the day was awful, but I'd gone for the walk rather than the photography. This brief spell towards the end of the day when the clouds blew away from the summits made the climb worthwhile. Trouble was, it was so windy I had difficulty taking the photo - I was actually crouched beside (and leaning against) a huge boulder to steady myself for this!!
