Saturdays snow shots
We headed out to Roxborough State Park on Saturday to shoot some snow scenes. The park was closed so I contented myself with what the entrance presented. The first is the familiar brick silo thing. Next is just a capture of the drifts with some cottonwoods in the BG. Final shot was a total surprise. We were almost home and four pronghorn were practically in our backyard! We swung a U-turn and I shot this from our car window. Terrible light situation...very close to a lens flare.

Sweet shot of the antelope. :toast:

I also wanted to get to Roxborough on Saturday, but snow shoveling kept me close to home. :frown: Now I don't feel so bad, knowing it was closed. Could you have snowshoed past the entrance gate, or was it even closed to foot traffic?

Thanks Bill...yes there were quite a few people snowshoeing into the park. I have snowshoes but didn't think to bring them with me. The snow should be around for a while but it won't look as pristine as it did Saturday.

I agree - that Pronghorn shot is terrific! It's beautiful and comical at the same time. The fur color on the male's snout gives him the appearance of having a Jimmy-Durante-type proboscis!

I've got to agree with the others. Nice antelope shot especially. You made some excellent shots without even getting into the park.

Nice shots. I really like the pronghorn shot.

Nice, Pamela. The antelope is the obvious winner! I would not use a very dark frame for those other shots--it blends in with the dark blue of the sky.

Those are some of the finest looking pronghorn I've seen. Beautifully photographed, Pamela!
