Wow, what a thrill to be chosen and an honor to be in such fine company. Thanks to all the Moderators for the great jobs you all do throughout the year - I'm really glad I don't have your jobs! Also, thanks to Jim & Donna for another great year at NPN and for all the people who make this such a wonderful, caring site.

Many thanks to Jim and the moderators. I was rendered speechless when I received the notification and that's hard to do to me. This has to be the highpoint of my photographic experience. NPN has been the primary learning tool for me over the past several years. To folks like Guy Tal, Nathan Buck, Mike Moats, Bill Chambers, Larry Lynch, John Christopher and a whole host of others who have taken the time to critique my images, please accept my heartfelt gratitude. You're the best. Blessings to you all. >=))>

It is hard to add more than has been said. I was stunned to receive notification from Jim on my 1st place award. Thanks to all the moderators for their work. An incredibly difficult job. The level of work displayed on NPN is second to none. Certainly makes me want to go out and work even harder to capture that next image. Thx to all.

I agree with the Bill's in all reguards. I'm EXTREMELY honored to have been recognized among the talent on this site, and was shocked when I got the email notification.
I've only been on this site for a year, and am astounded how much I've grown from a rough amateur with a new camera. I credit this site and all the people who have been kind enough to offer their honest thoughts on my photography. So thanks to all the editors, moderators and participants for making this forum such a great place for the exchange of great nature photography!
Congrats to all the winners!

I am thrilled to win the Man and Nature catagory! I just want to say I'd I'd...(sniffs clutching gold statue) like..... like to thank my mum and dad......
No seriously, my mum and dad have nothing to do with it. I would really like to thank my wife-to-be Rachel more than anyone because if it wasnt for her lending me the extra I needed to buy a 5D last November this year would not have been such a photographic sucess for me. It is the guilt that I had spent £2000 of her and my money on a camera, more than I had ever spent on be it a car or a guitar, that made me get off my ass and used it, that and the my continual inspiration of the following NPN members -
Zack, Ian Cameron, Bill Chambers, Marc Adamus, Rick Lundh, Mike Moats, Kah Kit Yoong, Verena & Georg, Marsel van Oosten, Jeremy Cram, Jasper Doest and the one and only Guy Tal and everyone who posts images in any forum that get me thinking AND JEALOUS! Your dedication is second to none!
Thanks to everyone who feels it necessary to comment on my images, such a sense of spirit and community here at NPN
What a fantastic array of pics this year, congratulations to all the winners. It is a truly inspiring grouping, good shooting in 2007.

A very big thanks to Jim and all the moderators for keeping NPN such an outstanding site. I'm always happy to spend time here because of the excellent photography and the consistently positive and supportive tone in this group. Kudos to all and to the members who participate so actively.
I'm also thrilled to be counted in the auspicious company of the 2006 winners. What an honour! Thank you again!

Thanks to Jim, and the moderators, for thier work in another outstanding year of images. Not only are all the images through out the year posted at NPN awesome, but the people that particapate here make it a great environment to grow as nature photographers. Its nice to see so many people willing to share their talents. When you look at all the outstanding images posted in the flora catagory during 2006, I'm honor to be selected in this great group. Thanks, and looking forward to 2007.

Congratulations to all winners and runners up! Really great images all together! We feel honored, that one of ours is among them.
It's been fun here at NPN to post, comment and receive comments and we promise to do so for at least another 3 years.
It's interesting how we can feel sympahtetic with so many NPN members we never have seen or spoken to - somehow this forum or group seems to be an exception in the world wide web. (quite an achievement, we think!)
So the ones to really congratulate above all others, are the ones who run the show: Donna and Jim and all others who might be responsible for it and we have no idea of!

To all, on behalf of the NPN moderators, staff, Donna and me, it is truly our collective pleasure. Thanks for being a part of NPN!
Congratulations to everyone here! I know it sounds a bit cliche but I personally feel that everyone in this community is a winner thanks to Jim and the moderators. NPN is a truly exceptional community and I think we all can feel that in our posts and conversations. It is a testament to their tireless dedication to the site that we have so many talented photographers working together here and becoming friends through the site. Then there are the photographers here. There are clearly a few of you out there that hardly ever need much in the way of critique on your images, yet you continue to give the rest of us helpful tips to improve our photography and inspire us to try harder. Many of you have been honored here today. Thanks to everyone and here's to another fantastic year at NPN!!
Cheers,

Congratulations to everyone on the list. Choosing between the thousands of great photos on here must have been very difficult.
Congratulations to all. In particular, I remember Leann Greene's spectacular spider web image and I am very happy to see it recognized. It still looks like a lower case alpha to me.

I would like to offer my sincere congratulations to all the winners and express my admiration for Jim, all his moderators and others who helped decide on the picks. I don't know how they were able to make the decisions when there are so many exceptional photos to choose from. I don't think I could handle the stress, because I'd be changing my mind every time I looked at another page of photos! I was quite shocked and truly honored to hear that I had received an honorable mention, because I am continually humbled by all the amazing photos and impressive talent that I regularly witness on this site. Every time I browse the galleries I am reminded of how much more I have to learn. I also agree completely with Michael that the members of this community are the real winners every year and the Grand Prize is the community itself. It is such a rare and refreshing experience in today's electronic world to find a group of individuals that have such a variety of opinions and beliefs who still manage to conduct conversations with an atmosphere of civility, mutual respect and friendship! Thanks to Jim and Donna and all the caretakers for providing the foundation for such a warm and friendly "Home"!

Can't say anything more than what has already been said...so I'll just second every comment on this thread, and throw a congrats out to the winners, the honerable mentions, and really all the posts and participation from everyone over the last year. Thanks for the pick! I'm honored by the inclusion and humbled by all the wonderful images here.
Man, I love this site!

I have to say I was blown away when I received Jim's email that I took first place in the Flora category. Actually I had to read the message several times because I kept thinking I must have misread it. To say this is a great honor for me is a gross understatement.
I can still remember, way back when I first talked with Jim about the start up of NPN and what a great idea it was. I got my first NPN hat at that time and did everything I could (and still do) to let people know about what a great site it was and how much they would learn for pennies a day. I never imagined that the site would grow to what it is today, and have no doubt that without Jim and Donna at the helm it never would have happened - thank you.
And a hearty CONGRATULATIONS to all the other winners. Great work.
P.S. I still have my original NPN hat, but I don't dare wear that one in public. I'm currently on hat #5. Looking forward to receiving that extra special hat #6.
I'm both happy and proud to have been chosen as a winner amongst so many excellent photographers. A big thank you to the judges and the moderators for all their hard work, to Jim and Donna for this wonderful community, and to all the members that have given me constructive feedback over the years.
