Calibrating a Dell 24

I was wondering if anyone could help me with this. I just got a Dell 24" ultrasharp monitor and am having a hard time calibrating it. I have a Sypder2pro calibrator and it has always worked great with my CRT monitors. With my LCD though it seems to calibrate way too red, even though the all the RGB channels are within .5 of each other....?
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
Thx

If you have not done so already, remove Adobe Gamma (if you use PS) from your Windoze Startup folder.

Next, check to make sure Windoze is recognizing your new profile. Right Click on the Desktop, select Properties>Settings Tab>Advanced>Color Management. Look in the box to see if your new profile is listed, and is set as default. If it is not set as default, select it, click Set As Default.

I hope this helps.

Jeremy...

I too have the Dell 24" LCD and the Spyder 2. Make sure that you download the latest version of the software. It is available on their website. Some of the older versions have problems with the Dell 24". After I downloaded the latest version, my calibration went much smoother.

Good luck,

Bill

Jeremy,
I had similar problems with my Mac laptop and desktop LCD until I covered the monitor with a dark cloth duration the calibration process. Alternatively, you can do it at night with no lights on in the room.
