Buzzard in your face
Was playing around with some of the young Buzzards in my area the other day. This particular bird have me intrigued, as it is very very small (somewhere between a Sparrowhawk and a normal Buzzard) and also almost orange on the breast. Obviously it indicates a male, but maybe also a Steppe Buzzard (not a bird we see in Denmark).

As it's rather shy I had to use a little trick to get it close. I put my stuffed Eagle Owl (Mr. George Bush - I think it was named here in the forum  )next to my car, and right away the bird came in for one close look, and then disappeared again.

20D + 500/4; iso400, f5, 1/640 (cropped some 5% from each side).

Looking forward to se many of you on Sunday,

cheers Helge

Hi Helge,
Looks good to me.
Interesting what you say about it being a small youngster. We have had a small youngster appear here in the last week or so. In fact when I first spotted it I took it to be a sparrowhawk, but when I put the binos on it, it had too much of a buzzard's face to be a sparrowhawk

Hi Helge,

Nice flight shot - light a bit overcast but the stare is good - would prefer the wings more open although appreciate he wouldnt be able to glide very well like that!

cheers
