After seeing Erik Stensland's post awhile ago about his website, I called Jack Brauer to talk about a brand new site for me. I learned that Jack has developed his own software, which enables the user to completely control site content. It's scalable to - you can add as many galleries and images as you wish. So, Jack (www.widerange.org) and I worked together, he did a great job (IMHO) and the result is my new website at: www.daveshowalter.com
Please feel free to cruise the site and feedback is apprecicated. The attached image is "American Flags on Mount Elbert" taken five days after 9-11.
Thanks!

My apologies for the headaches and thanks for trying. That was emabarassing! I had some server issues with the host that appear to be resolved. The site is working and loading fast right now. I appreciate your feedback - Thanks!

Dave,
I still cannot access it. But I look forward to seeing it once things are stable. Jack does top quality work - both web design and photography! What host do you use?
Dave - looks great!!! Very nicely done. I may need to ping Jack myself, as I like his version of gallery software better than the open source stuff like gallery2 and coppermine...
Beautiful site, Dave! The design (colors used, gallery format, navigation, etc) is attractive and easy to use. The photos are top notch as well ! I especially liked the wildlife gallery and the mountains in Peru.

Perhaps it is just me, but I still haven't managed to get in yet. I've cleaned my cache, tried on other computers but still haven't seen this amazing site. Anyone else having this problem?
I'm really sorry for the headaches and thanks to each of you for your feedback and persistence. My host company, ICD migrated me to a new server because the site was not loading quickly. That started these problems, which I had not encountered before. Everything appears to be stable now and I have flushed my DNS cache (whatever that means). In a way, I'm glad that I made this post when things were less than perfect, because you all helped me to make sure the site is running smoothly going forward. Otherwise, I may not have know and people would just give up and never come back. I will go back to ICD and tell them that some people still can't access the site and hope to have everything running perfectly very soon.
Thanks again!

You likely had a DNS change too (with the server migration), which can take up to three days to take effect for some people ... like me.
Can't wait to see it. I'm in the middle of overhauling my website with Jack's software.
The site and the images are top-notch - "nice work" to you and Jack! I was just able to access it for the first time - I had no luck yesterday on several computers.

I know your excitment Dave...I just did a major overhaul to my site. Yours is very clean, uncluttered, easy to navigate. I especially appreciate the informative captions with each image. I like the color scheme and the way the bottom edge fades towards the top gives a dimensional effect. You and Mr Brauer do nice work
I just got in! Very impressive site! I love the design and colors you chose. Want to trade? Great photos as well. I look forward to going back and spending a bit more time on your site. Great stuff!
