I was wondering if anyone could help me with this. I posted it also in the GD but have had no responses yet, maybe this will be faster...? I just got a Dell 24" ultrasharp monitor and am having a hard time calibrating it. I have a Sypder2pro calibrator and it has always worked great with my CRT monitors. With my LCD though it seems to calibrate way too red, even though the all the RGB channels are within .5 of each other....?
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
Thx
One thing to watch out for is to make absolutely sure that the spyder is FLUSH against the LCD screen during the FULL duration of the calibration sequence. What I do is I prop something against it to hold it in place while it scans (the mount foot on my 70-200mm placed vertically in front of the screen works perfectly...). Holding it by hand gets kinda weary since it takes a few minutes.
Since you can't use the suction cups on an LCD screen "something" has to hold it in place. Otherwise it will bend to the left or right and not get a clean reading...
Also be alert for lights that shine directly across the screen. Like an overhead light directly above the monitor. I shut off the lights in my office since I have two recessed lights right above my desk but others don't bother with this. I still like working in the dark - a bit of a hang over from my wet darkroom days I suppose....
Lemme know if this helps.

Yep, I've done that. Proped a binder up to hold it and have all the lights of in my office, which is in the basement. Thx. How do you have it connected, via DVI or Analog port? Does that even matter?
Well since both the monitor and the PC are digital using the DVI cord only makes sense. Using the analog cord forces a conversion from digital to analog then back to digital. So use the DVI.

I had problems calibrating my Samsung LCD until I turned the brightness down...Way, way down.

I always had a problem with Spyder and LCD, and I know I'm not the only one. Then I got Monaco and it was all fun from there. In your case, I would try DVI, and if nothing works, just contact Spyder and let them know about the problem.
