A revisit to Slimbridge this morning gave me a 20 second view of the Bittern and about a dozen frames. There is also a Cettis warbler there but other than the occasional glimpse there was no chance of a photograph :(

Hi Kevin,
A great view indeed - seen plenty of bittern images but not many with a great pose like this! Also a nice light, colours, detail and comp as well.

Wow isn't that nice, great feather detail and lovely colour.
Must be well chuffed.
Nice Kevin, a really secretive bird and amazing to get a view like this, let alone a quality picture!

Great sht Kev - having spent over 12 hours in the Zeiss Hide and seen the Bittern for less than 10 minutes I know how much patience is required to get a shot like this.
Most of mine are either taken in appauling light or have reeds obscuring vital parts of the bird.
