White Mountains...
An alternate comp of the southern white mountains earlier this week. Some snow up here, not much anywhere else. Looking forward to WINTER???

Thoughts on comp and exposure appreciated!

Jim,

I like the comp but it would be much stronger with something of interest in the foreground. I suspect that is something that would be difficult to find up there but keep looking. . .

I find the lighter color of the foreground snow to be enough. If there was something else in the foreground it might take away from the quiet scene. IMHO.

Jim...

I also think this works well the way it is. The snow in the foreground leads the eye into the background nicely. And I like the composition with the ridge line coming in from the left. Good shot!!

Jim,

I would crop the top portion down to the bright orange, getting rid of the blue sky. Otherwise it is a great shot.

Great shot, Jim. You are a lucky guy to get to spend so much time up there.. I agree with the suggestion to crop out the blue.

I like the overall comp Jim...my eyes get lead nicely along the ridge into the distance. I am not sure about the bright snow in the foreground, I find it a bit distracting. Great colours in the distance and sky.

Winter? Whats that? It was 73 degrees here on Saturday!?!

Jim,

Great shot. I really like the pink sky and mountains in the middle. Agree the the blue sky could be cropped. I also think that it could use a stronger item in the foreground to anchor the shot. Maybe you could have gotten in a little closer to the rock and get some detail in the rime ice. That would be a winner. Very nice as is though.
