This may not be the place to ask this, but I thought I would give it a try.
I want to give clients a DVD with proof images on (copyrighted) but I would like the image number to be on the image, is there a way in Photoshop to do a batch numbering in some way, so that the number is visible.
Any help appreciated...

Don't bother with photoshop Stewart, invest a few quid in Breezebrowser. You can do all manner of nifty things with it including what you are looking for.

For example, when I process my wedding proofs (sometimes 400 in a batch), I use one pass of the program to rename, resize, convert to low res JPEG and put both the image number across the middle and my copyright banner across the bottom. I'll find an example and post it

The program can be found at www.breezesys.com

It can also be used as a RAW convertor and IPTC editor too!

My example is at --> www.harwoodphotography.co.uk/BH036.jpg (I didn't want to post it "inline" as it isn't a Nature Photograph!)
