Just a small note to say that all the good dates for the Photographers hide @ Snettisham have gone really fast this year (especially since you cannot book them until the 1st Jan)
So if you where looking for the good tides, namely;
Aug 1->4 14, 15, 29,30,31
Sept 1,2, 12->14 and 27->30
Oct 10->13..
it ain't worth phoning.
T (who was to slow off the mark and but will be in the public hides or on the foreshore)
Must be some room on the roof of the hide for you - sure someone can stretch to throwing some scrim net over you

To put this in context, I contacted Snettisham on the morning of January 2nd, and all bar 3 of the dates mentioned by Tom had already been booked!!
Some are for the warden though as they are apparently looking to evaluate the impact of the photographers hide on the birds, so if anyone is going this year (and I am fortunate enough to) then make sure you're hide disciplines are top notch or there may be no hide at all in future years!!
I believe this hide as been there a long long time, long before those public hides, long before the RSPB took over the site, promoted it, hence drawing thousands of birders to the pits to augment the few photographers.
Now (it would appear that) the few photographers, and not the more recent ingress of 1000's of birders, appear to be under the microscope to be curtailed on potential disturbance grounds
If the hide is used correctly this should not be a problem.
I hope everything turns out OK as is an excellent wee hide.
