70 Degrees in January!
Took this shot of Nubble Light Saturday at sunset. It was about 65 degrees at the time, but the high for the day was about 70.

D2X, 17-55mm @ 30mm, 28 sec. @ f8, ISO 100, 2-Stop ND Grad, MLU, Tripod.

Wow, nice light and alot of drama in this shot. Perhaps a bit too much rock in the fg for my taste, but I love the ocean and cloud effects. Well done.

Yeah this weather is ROUGH. I want to apologize to everyone for buying that nice new pair of x-c's this year...It's clearly my fault!

Rich,

I like this shot, and, as a Mainer, I can appreciate it well I think! I was wondering if you used a polarizer for this or just the ND Grad? I am still trying to sort out how all of this stuff works together...Also, where did you place the grad in this shot?

Thanks,
Fred (Portland)

Fred,

No polarizer in this shot. The ND Grad was a soft edge. I covered the sky and lighthouse with the grad. The sun was setting behind me. Using the grad allowed me to get more detail in the dark foreground rock, without blowing out the sky..
