:jump:
With the forecast of snow, followed by cold temps and dry/semi-clear weather, I'm thinking Chanticleer Point, Crown Point, Cape Horn, Rowena, and of course iced-up waterfalls, will make great camera targets this weekend. Anyone interested in meeting for sunrise on Saturday and/or Sunday?

I would be! But it really depends on how much of that fence is built :wavey:

Call me on my cell if you're really goin'

Curtis, Peggy is leaving for Honduras on Monday so Saturday might be better for me than Sunday but give me a call if you're out this end of the Gorge. I'm more up for Rowena than the waterfalls.

Count me in perhaps

LOL! I love all this non-commital commitment!

I'm leaning toward hitting sunrise Sat. and Sun. and one of those days (most likely Sat), doing the waterfalls, working my way out to rowena for later afternoon/sunset.

I'll keep everyone posted. I want to watch the weather forcast, and make a decision Thursday or Friday. (I sure wish I could take Wed or Thurs off and get picks with the fresh snowfall :frown: )

Kevin, I got your email, so I'll call your cell when I solidify my plans.

I may be heading to Bend & Sisters...but not really sure I want to hit 4 degrees over there...hmmm...I'm sure the roads heading over there will be just fine since the precip ends by thurs...

I wouldn't say I'm entirely non-committal, but keep posting, I'm interested.

I'm pretty sure I'm in... If I don't get permission to take my 4Runner rather than my brand new car, I might see if anyone wants to share gas/truck pool....

I may be interested, let me know what the plan is.

Mark H, how's the snow pack in HR?

Anything decided yet?

The consensus seems to be Saturday, but unfortunately Brian and I can't make Sat. So we're going to do Sunday instead. We're going to start with sunrise at Chanticleer Point, and then work our way along the waterfalls and finish the day at Rowena for sunset.

Originally I wanted to do sunrise both days, but Saturday I need to try again to get in a field trip for my photography class. Last week the rain never let up in the coast range so the day was a bust.

Hope to see some of you on Sunday! :wavey:

We have a few inches of snow here in Hood River right now. It's supposed to stay cold so Rowena will be snow covered come Sunday. The orchards are looking nice with the rows of trees in the snow. I don't have to work tomorrow so I'm planning on wandering around. We're having a birthday party and Peggy's going away party on Sunday night so that's out for me.
I usually have my cell phone with me so give me a call and I'll give you the conditions update. 541-490-8455.

Thanks Mark. I wish I could do Rowena sunrise, but I'm not ambitious enough to get up at 3:00a.m. to get there in time :)

For those who are going Sat,

Anyone with a cell so I can catch up to you? I'm buildin' that fence, you know, so I'd be interested at least hitting Rowena Falls.

I am heading up tonight for sunset shots...see the other thread.....

Darn, missed it all. And the ground was way too hard to build a fence. And this website was down. Hope y'all got some good shots!
