Wagon axle detail
I have been trying to put together several images for an upcoming exhibit featuring rural, farming & agricultural scenes. Here is one I shot on our family farm in central NE this summer. There are a number of junk farm implements on the property that I thought had some potential. I tried to convert this to B/W but the beam got lost in the b/g grasses so I stayed with a color version.

Does this image do anything for you? Your comments would be appreciated.

Very nice shot Wayne, I would hang it on my office wall. I like the way the beam draws you to the wheel. I really think this one will sell.

I like the detail you've captured here, there is a lot to look at. Nicely done. BTW I replied to your email in case you've not looked yet.

Wayne - nice job on this one. Excellent sharpness, and some wonderful and interesting detail in the foreground beam (I really like how the grass is kind of growing out of it). The bright grass at the top of the frame does tend to attract my eye. Thanks for posting!

Nice post Wayne! I've always been drawn to old farm implements, but have always found them difficult to present in an interesting way. You've done a great job here. But as Tim mentioned, the bright grass at the top is a little distracting. Thanks for sharing - I hope your exhibit goes well!

Great composition Wayne! I like the rustic look of the beam and mostly the fine detail. I bet this looks great in a large print. It really draws you to it.

Nice composition Wayne. I really like the old wood and the weathered hardware. Where is your exhibit going to be? I might have to take a road trip.

Thanks for the comments everyone.

Dale, the exhibit is going to be at the Agricultural Hall of Fame in Bonner Springs, KS. I've contracted with them to do a 22 piece framed original photography exhibit to be displayed in the Main Gallery during the month of July. July is their biggest month for activities like threshing demos, so my work will get exposure to the largest crowds.

It's my first exibit and I should get some nice local exposure and maybe even a couple of interviews and local interest articles written about the exhibit. All the work will be for sale with 25% of the proceeds going to the AgHall. I'm also required to donate one piece for their benefit.

It is a bit intimidating but I'll try to put my best foot forward. Thanks! :wavey:
