A real treat to find this exiting bird after hearing its fluid song from afar.
10D, 300mm, f5.6, 1/750, ISO 800, hand held. Cropped on all sides with levels, saturation, and sharpen in PS. I have tried to crop out the distracting highlights.
My first post; still learning the ropes. It was great to meet everyone at the 1st UKNP conference at the weekend. Well done for an enjoyable day.

Hi John,

Welcome to the forum :wavey:

Well done for tracking down the bird from it's song, if it's anything like a Nightingale you did well!!

Your POF seems to be on or around the bird's rump/top of the tail and not the head/eye. The OOF branches are a slight distraction but there's not a lot to be done about this. It would be worth cloning out the white area's directly below the bird. It would also be worth running the image through a noise reduction prog such noise ninja, as there appears to be alot of noise in the BG or was this a big crop?

You will find there is alot of helpful people on here and you will learn quickly.

Please don't take my comments as negative ones

Regards

Rob

Hello,

Think I've seen this before

Great Shot, I love the contrast between the flowers and the birds feathers. There's good detail in the dark plumage also. :toast: :toast:

Maybe some selective USM around the eye.

The POF kept moving. I was on MF because the branches were fooling the AF, and the Tui was quite agile. The crop was >50% and so it could be pixel noise, but I will look up ninja, as I have not heard of this before. I had the ISO up at 800 for this shot, since it was a dull day. Thanks. :toast:
