This was taken with my brother on my first time with snow shoes. On the way to this spot, I fell in a hole under a log and got stuck like a turtle on his back. My 30lb amera pack had to go so I could grab a tree branch and pull myself up and out of the hole. Well I felt a twinge in my shoulder which turned out to be a rotater cuff injury. I currently can't move my shoulder without experiencing horrible pain. I have an appointment with a surgeon next week. What one will go through to get an ordinary shot.

Extreme bummer man, one of these days I know I'm going to end up getting hurt, the more I go out the more I oput in the first aid kit in anticipation.
It's a cool shot, the sky is deadly, almost as if it was foreshadowing the way your shoulder would feel the next day. The fg, though, I don't find to be interesting at all, might make a fun PS project to sub in a different fg if your into PS games for fun...
This made me think of a thread I wanted to post which would be "The Camera's Last Words" in which we would all post images which were the last taken before we or the camera was knocked out of action because of soaking, freezing, falling down a cliff, etc...
I have a hilarious shot of a wave crashing right over me and the camera, half the frame is white!

Erik, really sorry to hear about that. I got kneecap brusitis when I was hiking in Mount Rainier in July and have not shaken the injury 100% out of my system. I hope surgery isn't necessary. This is a nice shot - that is a very dramatic sky. I mainly am hoping you heal up good and fast.

Ouch! Bummer dude! Hope you recover swiftly.

Ouch! I had big time shoulder problems years ago. I had the full-on surgery. My surgery was in 1980 and I know they've come a long was since then (could that really be 27 years ago?). Good luck.

Surgery is always a last resort!!! Get a second opinion. Trust me. If there are other ways to recovery, do them first!

Oh, man! Eric. That's awful! What a way to have your first experience on snowshoes! This is REALLY a trecherous area for snowshoers and skiers alike due to all the cavernous channels underneath, but it can happen anywhere if you find a 'tree hole' or something. I've been stuck in similar situations about a thousand times but thankfully haven't had the misfortune of serious injury. I feel bad for you. Get better soon.

Someone at work got his fixed.. it wasn't fun at all for him... hope it gets better without the extreme...

That really does suck, Erik. You're a healthy guy and hopefully you can heal without surgery. I hope it also doesn't taint your interest in getting out in snow shoes. I absolutely love it, and enjoy hiking with my bro.
The shot is OK. probably about the only comp in that area we went in to.
Can you imagine an injury like that, if you were in about 10 miles, all alone.

(1) Cool image
(2) Shoulders heal, IF you can manage to be inactive with them.....but you'll have to lay off 80-yard touchdown passes for a while.....
Oh man! Erik, I'm sorry to hear you got hurt. I thought you were going to say the camera pack went into oblivion, which might well have been the lesser bummer....
Take it easy and get well Fearless Leader.
Oh man, that's awful. Sorry to hear about your injury Erik. Hope your shoulders heal without any surgery.

Thanks everybody. I'm mainly getting concerned about spring being around the corner and my golf game.

Too bad, Erik. I'm really sorry to hear about your injury. Don't let this keep you off snowshoes. (Ok, well, maybe wait until you get better...) They're really an amazing way to get out into nature.
Here's hoping for a complete and swift recovery!

Eeewww... sorry to hear that Erik, I've had many serious injuries over the years, and it's always a bummer. I'm sure you'll be out and about in no time though.
