With much peer pressure I decided to give online journaling a try (don't use that other awful term, please... ). So, I created a page for those random occasional thoughts that are not quite fully developed articles.

So then shouldn't you have it hosted on someplace called journalspot.com?
Good luck with that. I know my biggest issue is that I have plenty of thoughts that I start, but then I find I don't have the time needed to

Hi Guy,
I've visited your umm, er, Journal as you know. I think its off to a good start and will visit from time to time. I do miss photos tho -- so for me its a little dry. But I'm sure the articles will be instructive and I believe that's your intention.
In fact I journal-rolled you and would appreciated a return favor for my journal. Actually its a **og -- I don't mind the new cyber-terms as our language will evolve no matter what we do.
Well, if it takes off I will likely take the time to set it up on my own server so I don't have to worry about rights and silly nomenclature. Consider it a beta
Guy: in order to give it some 'graphic appeal' you could always post images with big, hideous watermarks on them that link to the images on your site. Good luck with it. Time to read your entries....

You could always edit the template's HTML so the four letter word doesn't show up on all your headings.

Good luck with the "journal", Guy. Since I'm an admirer of your writings I can see myself making frequent visits. Though I don't understand why Google thinks they should have the right to use any images posted for their own marketing benefit for free. Business as usual I suppose. Since we often post images to be viewed by the general public, but never give non exclusive rights to the viewer, it makes me wonder why this would be different in the world of online journaling.
If this does take off for you then I would like to see you set it up on your own server to where you can post images at will.

Great Guy,
Something else to add to my "must read" list. I know I'll enjoy it though.
Loved the few pieces you already have on there. Your writing and thought process always rings very true to me. Look forward to reading more of your posts.

Great news Guy, and I will gladly add you to the list that I have on mine.
And, ... good luck using Blogger!
I just moved mine last week from Blogger and over to WordPress.
(Not only is WP visually appealing, ... it's free too!)
Blogger will lose some of your stuff in a heartbeat, and any help from them is virtually non-existant.
I new that they were having some big problems with the new Beta Blogger, so I finally jumped ship.
So, ... run some backups!
Now, ... time for some reading.

I'll definitely subscribe. I would recommend hosting a blog on your own server. You may even want to check out the hosted WordPress solution out (as previously mentioned). I don't recall there being the same goofy legalese. Hosting wordpress on your own site is cake also.

This is a great start to online journaling Guy. I like the entry about 'quitting'.
Though I've only been at it for a couple months, I write on Blogger now as an almost daily habit to fuel my writing & photography passions & keep myself creative. They always include photos & I center the writing around a chosen photo & theme but I try to keep them to about 300pixels & low res. However, I didn't know that clause about Google feeling they have the right to my photos so I will try to make sure from now on that all of the photos are small low res WITH my name on them. Thanks for the insight.
Carry on with the great journalling!

I will say this, ... that Google/Blogger does not like to lose content.
Just try deleteing all of the content from a fairly large blog on Blogger with lots of images and text.
You will find that it does not always work, and sometimes, it looks gone, ... but it ain't!
Just one of the reasons I left Blogger. They scare me!
