Interesting shot.

I like the way the wings seem seperated from the gulls head.

Maybe a little extra sharpening?

Hi Craig,

Interesting composition, I to would like to have seen a little more head. The head/eye looks nice and sharp to me, and lovely colours in the beak.

Regards

An unusual take on an overlooked bird and one that works very well. I just wonder if it would take another pass of USM?

Hi Craig,
A bit different and certainly an eye catching shot.
Not too sure about your cropping here, it looks a bit clunky and uncomfortable.
I think going in tighter wouldn't do any harm and it would concentrate the eye on the gull's eye a bit more.

I took it into PS and cropped, sharpened and adjusted levels a wee bit. I think it would look better cropped to portrait though, instead of this landscape format

Hi John I am inclined to agree with you. I am always worried about oversharpening though.

Certainly different... the original didn't quite work for me but John repost looks good.
