Finally got out to take a few pic's today,although weather bleak and windy there were a few Grey Herons hanging around there old nesting site.

Canon 20D, 300-800mm Sigma lens,1548 Gitzo, Wimberley MK2 head, 1/30th sec @ f8 iso 400,cropped top and left side

Hi Barrie,

As your bro says nice BG and super sharp image. Lovely detail in the plumage and I just love that big yellow eye. Well done for getting so close, the only place I found them anywhere near approachable is Regents Park in London.
