Whilst doing some tidying up on my PC I've stumbled across some images and I haven't post process a lot of them are Peregrine inflight shots.
I don't think this is technically the best of all the shots but I like its sense of motion the dead bird in its talons is a young shell duck or a avocet
Phillip.
Ps I still haven't done all last year's holiday from Frence.

Hi Phillip,
This is pretty damn good . I love Peregrines and as they are not breeders in Suffolk, I always enjoy looking at images of them.
Your image shows a great amount of detail also portrays a good sense of movement.
Would you mind telling me the location and how easy it is to get images, you can PM if you like.
Well Done
Regards
Rob

Hi Philip
great action shot and I like the sense of movement.
Hi Rob it's a pretty well-known site here in the North West it's called Warton crag a disused quarry 1 1/2 miles from Leighton moss, the new female that has been breeding there for the last few years has chose a ledge that is very easy to view from the ground the viewing area is approximately 100m or so from the nest, the climbers that use the quarry have come to a mutual agreement not to use the right-hand side where the peregrines breed during the breeding season, both bids are their most of the year but you are guaranteed to get in-flight shots during the breeding season as the birds quite happily fly overhead.
Last year not only did the peregrines breed but also raven little owl hundreds of jackdaw, if you do decide to go drop me a email.
This is a fantastic image, I really really like it, if I didn't know of your 'dislike' of altering an image after the fact I would have said that the blur of the bg looked a bit artificial, if this isn't technically the best, I would love to see the good ones.
All the best

This is brilliant
the detail is excellent and with the background blurred it gives a great sense of motion and the bird really pops out.

Must be really tricky to capture this type of photo. Excellent job.
I've seen the peregrin over at the Allan / Eric Morecambe hides but not at Warton. Must look harder next time.
Rob
Great sense of movement and nice habitat in the BG. Great stuff!
