Hello to all. I'm an east coaster who has recently purchased a place in Estes Park. My goal is to retire soon from GE and spend a LOT more time in Colorado. I'm fairly new to photography, being a member of the Merrimack Valley Camera Club for 2 years now. Looking forward to learning here as well, and meeting some of the fine photographers that frequent this site.

Here is my version of Horseshoe Park, in RMNP, in Black & White. Of course, all crtiques are welcome. After all, how else will I learn?!! :toast:

Hey Mike, welcome to the group and Colorado! You picked a great place for Snow and Summer fun there in C.B. A lot of us spend a chunk of Summer there every year! We all look forward to your contributions to the group! :toast:

Welcome Mike! I'm a fellow GE guy, working in Boulder. Beautiful shot - looks like you've got great tones to go with a strong composition. Don't hesitate to post larger if you can. You can go up to 720px on the long side; it certainly makes critiquing easier. Looking forward to seeing more of your work!

Thank you all for the warm welcome!! Abd a GE'er to boot! Who would have thought?!

I've tried reposting a larger copy of the photo but for some reason the site wont let me. Oh well.

Welcome to RMNP and soon to Colorado. You certainly picked a prime spot to live. I agree that your shot would look better larger. From what I can see it looks very good.

Thanks for the warm welcome Pam!! :wavey:

I tried to resubmit the photo with the long side set at 720 pixels on the long side Rick suggested but had no luck. So here it is at 500x399......hopefully!!

Better? Yes, no?

Yes, better! This shows lots of detail and sharpness. I can also appreciate the wide range of tones you captured. The vivid snow-capped peaks make this shot.
