PS Free tutorial recommendations

I'm hoping someone can help me here. My wife just got through restoring/retouching a large number of slides and digital images (they looked great), but in many areas she's really a Photoshop novice, and could use a trip through the intricacies of layers, masks, and other Photoshop "basics".

Do you have a favorite online tutorial set that covers these areas? I know there are some free tutorials out there which are pretty good - or at least there used to be...

You may want to look at Radiant Vista http://www.radiantvista.com/ They have a lot of great free online tutorials, you can spend hours there viewing. They add something everyday.
