Taken Saturday. Tim and I went to Silver Falls to see if there were any interesting photo opportunities with the snow. Unfortunately, most of the trails were closed or impassable. The light was pretty much non-existent, so there wasn't much to work with. There was a little pink in the sky after sunrise, but that quickly went away. This photo has some of that pink in the sky, but part of me feels the color in the sky is distracting from the scene since the rest of the photo appears almost b&w. Any thoughts?

Ryan, I really like the image. I do agree with you about the sky - it almost has the feel of having been falsely colored or botched in post-processing. I'd go ahead and turn it all the way to b/w and then see what it feels like...
I may play with this some more. I haven't spent too much time with it. I'm not sure I like the overall cool blue either. It is an experiment in progress.

I'm thinking of cropping out the sky. I think that makes it a little more intimate. Either way it's a pretty scene.

I prefer the original, post, but Erik has a good point. cropping out the sky keeps me more focused on the waterfall and showy landscape.

Great job on the winter scenic. I do like the B & W with the blue tint. I think it works
