Ok, for a tad bit of a change I wanted to see if anyone wanted to post the last pics that your camera took right before it got KOed by something.
I've had my Minolta 5D shut down on me 3 times now due to being soaked. Each time I thought it may never recover. Here is the first time, and the reason is clear!
I was in hawaii shooting some wave action on a little lava formation I wandered onto and... Afterwards parts of the LCD began turning white and discolored and the control dial started jumping around in crazy amounts. I let it dry out for a couple of days needless to say it recovered.
You can still see some salt residue on the underside of my LCD if you look at it at the right angle today.
Hopefully you all have some good stories and pics, too. Marc, what was your last pic before your famous 5D-in-hand plunge into that gorge stream? Erik, didn't you drop a camera into a lake once? Hope this is fun
Ok... here is the last frame on the chip (no editing done) right before my D2x jumped off the tripod (really, all on it's own, it decided to just jump right off the tripod ) and onto the only rock within 10 feet of me on Ruby Beach... Ruby Beach
Sean just dunked his D2x and 70-200VR into Lake Washington... no shots on that outing before the camera went swimming. The LowePro toploader actually floated. We were very, very happy that it didn't sink. The lens seemed to mostly dry out after a week or so and still function, but the body was is quite dead. Hopefully Nikon will be able to repair it for less than the cost of a new one.

Yes I did. I dropped it in a large puddle up on the Salmon River trail. I saved it with a hair drier. I think I can still come up with the lat image before the drop.
